If you’re looking to make some money this weekend, I’ve got you covered. These are the top 5 games to bet on with the spread this Sunday.
Vikings at Lions, 1:00 PM ET, MIN -2.0
Many may point to Kirk Cousins’ 4 TD game and believe he’ll extend his two game hot streak, but he’s had an easy time playing against the Giants and Eagles, two of the worst secondaries in the NFL. Detroit’s defense will give him and the rest of the offense a far harder time.
Furthermore, Matthew Stafford has a lot to prove after a rather bland performance at Lambeu Field Monday night. Expect the Lions offense to run through Kerryon Johnson with Minnesota’s front 7 being the weaker part of their defense, while the Lions offensive line has been fantastic so far. Detroit will take the win in a close one to put the Lions at a solid record of 3-2-1.
Rams at Falcons, 1:00 PM ET, LAR -3.0
Both teams are coming in with long losing streaks, but one team still has what to play for. Atlanta is sitting with the Redkins as the bottom teams in the NFC. Meanwhile the Rams just added former All Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, so that will definitely help with Julio Jones. Already a solid defense, Ramsey will take them to another level.
Next, the Falcons have one of the worst defenses in the league, so expect Sean Mcvay to lead his offense to a season saving performance in Todd Gurley’s return to the field. Take the Rams to cover the spread in a big win for the NFC Champions, who need it really bad with San Francisco and Seattle now dominating the division.
Texans at Colts, 1:00 PM ET, IND -1.0
Both teams are heading into this huge AFC South matchup with impressive wins in Kansas City, and the winner will be leading the division. Houston’s QB Deshaun Watson has been stellar so far this season, and the Colts defense is gonna need a big game to keep him under control.
They’ve showed that they can handle any offense however, holding the MVP Patrick Mahomes to just 13 points a couple weeks ago. In addition, look for TY Hilton to tear up Houston once again, something he’s been doing his entire career. I’ll take Jacoby Brissett and the Colts to get the big win at home while covering the spread.
Saints at Bears, 4:25 PM ET, CHI -3.5
It looks like Chicago will get back Mitch Trubisky as they host the Saints who’ve been 4-0 since Teddy Bridgewater took over for the injured Drew Brees. This matchup figures to be a defensive one, as both teams are stacked with defensive stars on all three levels.
The difference seems to be that New Orleans have a far superior offense, with Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and a great OLine to help Bridgewater get points on the board. Chicago’s offense will struggle heavily to keep up even with their defense’s help, with limited weapons and an injured QB against a really tough defense. Expect the Saints to win and beat the spread to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Eagles at Cowboys, 8:20 PM ET, DAL -3.0
The winner of this game will stand alone as the leader of the NFC East, which looks to be the worst division in football. The Eagles secondary is as bad as it can be, but Philly might luck out if Amari Cooper can’t suit up. With Dallas already missing both star tackles and Randall Cobb, Dak Prescott may struggle scoring points, especially if the Eagles stack the box to stop Zeke Elliott.
The Cowboys defense got lit up by Sam Darnold last week, so Carson Wentz, Zach Ertz, and co. should be able to score enough points to beat the painfully limited Cowboys offense. Eagles will win by at least a TD to take the lead in the division.
